Due to the increasing cases of the deadly covid-19 pandemic and its associated scourge on the educational system, learning has been adversely affected, not only at Nabel International Academy, but in Nigeria and the entire globe. For the foreseeable future, there is no sign that schools will resume for normal academic activities. 

It is in the light of the above that we considered the option of going online to keep the school running, till there is easing of lockdown and resumption of schools. We commenced online teaching and learning on May 4, 2020.

Nabel International Academy, keeping to its vision of providing qualitative education, without considering how much effort it takes or cost incurred, is dedicated to ensuring that children keep learning. The online training is being provided for free as most of the parents cannot raise money for tuition due to lockdown. 

The outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic has become a major concern to the inhabitants Nigeria and indeed, Galadimawa community due to the lockdown and consequent Stay at Home Order by President Buhari-led Federal Government, first announced on March 30, 2020, which was extended by another 14 days. 

The lockdown order was not only prompt, but harsh because there were no palliative measures from government to cushion the effects that have crumbled the global economy. 

Consequently, there is anxiety, tension, hunger and panic which have triggered social concerns such as theft, burgling, incessant police arrest, harassment, rape and other social vices in the community. 

Nabel International Academy, a reputable citadel of learning in Galadimawa Community whose vision is to offer qualitative but affordable education to Galadimawa Community and environs, as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR), approached Youth Builders Initiative (YBI), an NGO that projects the voices of the voiceless and advocates for vulnerable members of the society, to provide food relief for Covid-19 pandemic. 

Constrained by funding, we collaborated with Youth Builders Initiative (YBI) that funded the provision of food items (rice, maggi and tomato) for  seventy three (73) households in Galadimawa Community on April 17, 2020.  

We have also compiled list of over 1,000 more people who are currently clamoring for relief from us. 

Nabel Debut Inter House Sport Highlight

Nabel International Academy’s long awaited debut inter house sport competition finally took place on Saturday, 21st March, 2020. The event drew a good number of parents and children who despite social media hypes on Convid-19. Indeed, parents were thrilled by the performances of their kids.

Four houses, which featured in different games include Ruby, Emerald, Pearl and Sapphire, abbreviated REPS, which represents the theme of this year’s vent.

Motivated by the performance, the Chairman of the occasion, who is also the PTA Chair of the great citadel of learning, enjoined parents to continue to support and compliment the effort of the school management to take the school to another level, sport wise. In his opening remark, he called on parents to pay their PTA levy and inter house sport charges promptly before the next inter house sport to enable the school plan well.

The competition which aimed at promoting healthy rivalry among pupils/students, enhance physical skills and foster unity ended with encomium and jubilation as parents were taken aback by the wonderful performances of their kids.

Mrs Adewumi led Pearl House won the competition with 165 over all points and the event came to an end at around 12:30PM.

Thanks to our dear parents, the proprietress, school management, sport committee, house masters, the band boys, technical supporters, Nabel teachers and many others who contributed one way or the other to the successful outing.
